The ‘Impulse Buy’ Formula That Makes High Ticket Sales 3x Easier

Humans hate losing more than they love winning. It’s just deep-fried into our primal circuitry.
Which is why when someone buys from you, it should feel like an absolute win.
Because if they don't win - they lose...
That's what they're scared of. The bigger the potential loss, the more fear they have around it.
Which is why a lot of leads will have a hard time committing to your high ticket offers too early.
But most entrepreneurs don't realise that this one psychological driver can be the key to going from hard mode --> easy mode in your business.
Hard mode = Going from ice cold prospect to “I’m going to pay you £2000/month now”. It’s a massive jump and very difficult to pull off...
Easy mode = Having a steady flow of new income (even from leads you would have weeded out as "non-buyers") and a pool of leads that are ready to buy your highest ticket services/products.
So how do you do that? Let me introduce the ‘tripwire offer’.
A tripwire offer is a low-cost, high-value product (think: £17 - £47) that flips someone from “just looking” to “buyer mode.”
Once someone buys something small, they’re psychologically wired to keep buying - because now their brain sees you as someone worth paying. They see paying you as a win.
How to Use Tripwires to Sell High-Ticket Offers - The 3 Step Framework high ticket sales
Make It an Absolute Steal – I like to go by the 100x value rule. E.G. If you're selling your tripwire for £17, make the perceived value £1700. Now this rule isn't completely rigid, because it might feel much harder to pump the perceived value of a £47 product to £4700, but get as close as you can. Even if it's seen as 10x worth of value, it's still very worth it to most prospects.
Deliver and actually solve a problem – This shouldn't just be a teaser. Your tripwire should blow their mind and actually help them fix stuff. It makes them trust you, and it makes them think, “If this is just the entry-level, what’s inside the high-ticket offer?!”
Lead Them to the Obvious Next Step – The tripwire should naturally set up the high-ticket offer. (Example: A £27 course → £5K done-for-you service.)
This is how a lot of top brands and info-marketers scale while others struggle to sell big-ticket offers cold.

It builds trust, gets a win for your clients early and creates buying momentum so that you can upsell easier.
